This fuchsia knit wool jersey turban hat is a 1960s does 1940s style, with a tall, dramatic crown and elegant draping of the knit fabric. Although this is definitely a 1960s hat, it reminds us of the jersey knit turbans popular in the 1940s/WWII era. The stretchy, unlined, lower section of the turban wraps over itself at the center front of the hat and hugs the forehead and back of head. This stretchy lower portion of the hat is attached to a stiff mesh lining underneath that creates the height of the crown and the flat top of the hat. More jersey is draped over this flat crown, in a separate piece. The hat is designed to tilt backwards when worn, as shown. The flat crown is taller/higher in front than in back. In silhouette, it rather resembles a tall pillbox hat, attached to a turban. In excellent to mint condition, this fuchsia or deep, bright pink, authentic vintage turban hat appears unworn--and it is a fabulous color, too!
