This honey-colored and golden-tan polyester jersey 1970s evening dress combines a crystal pleated, ruffled bodice with a slinky, gently flared skirt. The neckline has elastic, to allow for wearing either on or off the shoulders. The waist, hidden by the last row of ruffles, is also elastic, with a decorative “drawstring” tie. The semi-sheer pleated fabric has a subtle floral texture, and is a darker, more honey-toned shade than the under-bodice and skirt, which are a lovely, warm tan or camel color. The top row of ruffles creates the look of a flutter sleeve, over the sleeveless under-layer. The skirt is full-length, gathered where it meets the elastic waist. The lightweight polyester knit fabric is unlined. It pulls on over the head, and has no fastenings. In excellent to mint condition, this disco-era evening gown was never worn, and still has its original hangtags attached. Labeled a Vicky Vaughan Junior, “As seen in Seventeen” magazine, it was probably intended as a formal or prom dress, but could also function as a more casual 70s maxi dress style, for current wear.
