This early 1960s cocktail dress in gold and green metallic brocade is a stunner! Be ready to make quite an entrance, since all eyes will be on you at your next event, wearing this fabulous vintage frock. The cap-sleeved bodice has a wide, scooped neckline, vertical bust darts, and a fitted waist. The skirt has small pleats at the front and back, below the waist seam (and the adorable flat bow in front!), to add fullness to the hip area, before it flares gently down to the hem. The metallic gold, jade green, and ivory abstract-patterned brocade fabric feels like acetate or perhaps an acetate and rayon blend (plus the metallic fibers), somewhat crisp to the touch and medium-weight. The bodice of the dress is lined in greenish-gold, acetate taffeta, and the skirt is lined with jade green, stiff, muslin-type fabric, to add some body to the fullness of the skirt. The dress fastens with a metal zipper in back. In excellent to mint condition, this gorgeous mid-century cocktail dress is ready for it’s next outing!
