Description
This deadstock 1950s or early 1960s 2-piece dress in gray and white striped seersucker cotton combines a sleeveless blouse and semi-full skirt—wear together or separately! The lightweight cotton seersucker has a ribbed texture that keeps it looking crisp in even the hottest weather. The boxy, button-up top has a small, pointed collar, bust darts for shaping, and a straight hem. It looks great tucked into the fitted waistband of the matching skirt, but would also mix well with a capri pant or shorts. The skirt also buttons up the front, from the waistband to the hem. The fabric is gathered where it meets the flat waistband, to add moderate fullness. Both pieces of this sweet striped seersucker 1950s-60s set are unlined. The skirt is in excellent, unworn condition. The blouse is in very good, unworn condition: it has several tiny, pinhole-sized rust marks at each underarm area, where it was stored folded and pinned for many years. These are unlikely to be noticed (see close-up photo).
