This equestrian-themed novelty print cotton blouse, circa 1950s or early 1960s, has a pattern of horse’s heads in rust brown, over a forest green background. Although it was originally designed as a ladies’ blouse, the shirt has a sporty, slightly tailored style that makes it perfectly unisex, to modern eyes. The button front has a tiny, rounded collar. The single patch pocket on the left chest closes with a button flap. The long sleeves have small pleats above the fitted, French cuffs with mother-of-pearl cufflinks. The back shoulder yoke has two small pleats below it, to add a bit of fullness to the back of the blouse. The hem is a curved, “shirt-tail” style. The crisp cotton fabric is a plain weave, in a medium weight. In excellent to mint condition, never worn, this mid-century novelty print cotton blouse is wonderfully versatile and wearable!
