Description
This Ole Borden for Rembrandt, 2-piece mod 1960s dress combines a mini-dress or long tunic with a longer underdress, for 2 looks in 1! Wear the mini dress alone with tights and boots or chunky heels for a sassy and youthful, mid-1960s look, or add the underdress/skirt for a more demure look similar to a skirt suit. The mini/tunic and lower skirt portion of the underdress are made of mid-weight, suiting-style charcoal heather gray wool fabric. The upper portion of the underdress is made of blue-gray acetate taffeta, which is not seen when the set is worn together. The mini dress features a small stand collar (Nehru collar), decorative brushed silver-tone metal buttons across the left shoulder and on each tapered, bracelet-length sleeve hem, and functional welt pockets at each hip. The horizontal seam across the bust and upper back creates an empire-waist look, but the mini-dress is actually a shift, fitting loosely from bust to hem. The tunic or mini dress is lined with rayon taffeta and fastens in back with a nylon zipper. The sleeveless underdress is also lined in rayon taffeta at the wool skirt section only, and fastens with a nylon zipper. Recently dry-cleaned and ready to wear, the set is in very good condition with one tiny flaw: a small run in the taffeta bodice of the underdress, which will not be seen when it is worn (see close-up photo).
