Brooch: 2” diameter, with 1.25” long pin-back
Earrings: 1” long by .5” wide
This heraldic design enameled metal brooch and earrings set is fit for a queen! Circa 1950s or early 1960s, the set includes a chunky, star-shaped brooch or pin with a shield-shaped center, decorated with green enamel surrounding a fleur-de-lis design, which is often associated with the monarchy of France. The matching screwback earrings have smaller, dangling fleur-de-lis embellished shields. The gold metal settings are well made and relatively heavy in weight. Although the set is unsigned, it is excellent quality—and in excellent condition.
We have a similar set, probably by the same maker, which includes a pendant and earrings with a “lion rampant” design--in case you prefer British heraldry to French! See it here.
