This 1960s cocktail suit in ivory silk shantung has a fitted pencil skirt and a slightly boxy, hip-length jacket. The three-quarter-sleeve jacket has princess seaming, a "mandarin" collar set into a round neckline, bound buttonholes and decorative pocket flaps (no pockets). It closes with a row of covered buttons and is lined with ivory crepe. The skirt has two slit pockets set into the seams over each hip, a narrow waistband, and a metal side zipper. It is lined with white organza, including the pockets. The suit is beautifully made, using high-quality fabrics, and it is in very good to excellent condition. The only issue is some faint graying at the very edge of the sleeve hems, that will be hard to notice when the suit is worn. It would make a lovely wedding suit, or look effortlessly chic at your next spring or summer event.
