Label: Meyers Brothers Lexington, KY. Originators Kentucky Jods.
These ladies’ circa 1930s or 1940s jodhpurs or riding pants are made of copper brown wool twill fabric. They had the classic fit of jodhpurs: slightly full through the hips, tapering to very fitted from knee to ankle, with button-fastened straps that go under the foot. The inner sides of the legs have oval patches and there are two welted pockets, one over the front of each hip. The jodhpurs fasten at the left side of the waist with a button placket and have medium-width belt loops. At some point, the center back seam has been let out, as you can see by the darker area of fabric, at the center of the seat. This has been done professionally, with the original belt loop replaced, but the seat could also be taken back in, if you prefer. When a riding jacket is worn, this color difference should not be visible. These nicely constructed vintage jodhpurs or ladies’ riding pants from Meyers Brothers in Lexington, Kentucky are in very good condition, with no other issues to note.
