This black leather handbag from the late 1950s or early 1960s is a classic vintage frame handbag style, in an extra large size! (We included a regular-sized business card in our first photo, to give a better idea of the scale.) The slightly textured, black leather bag has a large, gold metal medallion set into the center front. The design on the medallion looks like a medieval era barmaid or hostess serving drinks to a patron, outside, next to a horse and cart—idyllic “peasant life”! The gold metal hinged clasp on top of the handbag has a smaller, close-up version of the same scene. The metal frame of the handbag is covered in leather and the top handle is black leather, as well. The handbag is lined in taupe vinyl and has a slip and a zipper pocket inside. This unusual, mid-century leather handbag is in very good to excellent condition, with just the lightest scuffs to the leather at the lower corners. Between its larger size and the solid metal trim, it is rather heavy—but certainly large enough to carry all of a modern lady’s necessities!
