This floral print rayon late 1930s features darling daisies and poppies in shades of acid yellow, spearmint green, and brown. The short sleeves are puffed with a row of shirring at the top of the shoulders. Below the pointed collar and notched lapels, the dress fastens with a row of brown plastic buttons, all the way to the hem. (The 5th button from the top is a replacement, and the lowest button has a tiny chip out of its edge.) The stitched-down pleats in front from waist to hem open up below the hips and above the waist in front, to add a bit of fullness to the shape. These stitched-down pleats mean that the dress is proportionally smaller at the hip area than at the bust and waist—please see the detailed measurements. The self-fabric belt is present. The lightweight floral print rayon fabric is unlined, and has a faint texture like tiny squares, which is best seen in my close-up photo showing the small mend at the front hem. This small mend and the 2 minor, already-mentioned button issues are the only flaws to note. It is in very good condition--pretty great for an 85-year-old day dress! This colorful, summery 1930s dress may be best for a petite (or at least, not a tall) person, since the length from underarm to waist is about 1 inch shorter than typical (see measurements for details).
