This late 1940s or very early 1950s ladies’ swing-style jacket in black cotton velveteen features sparkling rhinestone buttons, rounded patch pockets (yay!) and a yellow rayon brocade inner collar. Below the fitted shoulders, squared off with large shoulder pads, the jacket flares outward to the hip-length hem, shaped similarly to a smock top or maternity jacket (it could be worn as maternity, but not labeled as such).  The three-quarter-length sleeves also flare out a bit, from the shoulders to the turned up cuffs. The jacket is unlined, and the soft velveteen is a light-to-medium weight—perfect for indoor wear in fall/winter, or as outwear in warmer weather. In near excellent condition, the jacket has one replacement (vintage) button, but no other flaws to mention. The yellow floral brocade inner collar is easily removable, if you prefer the look without it. Pair this lovely 1940s-50s swing jacket with a pencil skirt for a classic, post-war silhouette!
