This lemon yellow, deadstock 1960s housecoat or robe from Hawaii features a tiki style, screen-printed design on each giant patch pocket, as well as Asian-inspired details like the knot and loop closures down the front, and the mandarin collar. The turned-up cuffs of the short sleeves and the top edge of the collar are both trimmed with white piping, to match the knotted closures. The piping and trim are plain white cotton, while the body of the housecoat is made of a cotton and rayon blend, with a texture similar to that of mid-weight linen. It is unlined. Narrowest at the shoulders, the jacket or robe has a loose-fitting, tubular shape that flares out just a bit from hips to hem—not quite full enough to describe as an A-line silhouette, but similar in fit. Deadstock vintage, unworn with its original paper hangtag, this 1960s Hawaiian or tiki-style jacket or robe is in excellent condition. Its only issue to note is that the tiki guys printed on the pockets may have darkened with time—not sure if they were originally bright white, or their current off-white color. Perfect for glamorous lounging around the house, or hanging by the pool with a tropical cocktail in hand, this would also make a great outerwear layer for your next visit to the tiki bar!
