This 1980s-does-1960s-(or 1920s)-style silk shift dress combines black puffed sleeves and shoulder yoke with a painted/airbrushed calla lilies print in ivory, poppy-red, and soft grey. The lightweight silk crepe de chine of this loose-fitting style will float over the body when worn, making this a lovely vintage cocktail dress that is quite comfortable to wear! It flares out just slightly from hips to hem, and has a nearly straight fit from the shoulder to where it is curved in a tiny bit at the waist (see measurements). The black, boatneck shoulder yoke has a curved seam where it attaches to the body of the dress. The softly draped sleeves are gathered into fitted, buttoned cuffs. The print fabric lily decorating the left shoulder has several satin cord “stamens”, and a wired stem. The silk fabric is unlined, and has no fastening other than the sleeve buttons; the dress pulls on over the head. In very good condition, this silk print 1980s dress has a few tiny, light spots nearly hidden by the busy design of the lily print—see close-up photos. We recommend dry-cleaning rather than hand washing for this silk dress, since water may cause the painted print to run (it has been recently cleaned by us, and is ready to wear, but for your future reference).
