Lipstick red jersey 1970s maxi dress keyhole neckline XS-S

1970s Clothing

This 1970s maxi dress in bright red, slinky jersey knit polyester is embellished with a dark silver-tone metal “medallion” at the high/empire waist seam. The fabric of the fitted bodice and flaring, full-length skirt is flatteringly gathered around the medallion, which sits at the center front of the underbust seam, completely filling a round, keyhole opening. The wide, portrait collar trimmed with peachy-cream floral lace is draped over the sleeveless bodice like a tiny capelet. Vertical darts shape the back bodice. The lightweight polyester jersey fabric is lined with orange-red nylon taffeta only at the back of the dress bodice, and on the underside of the collar. The jersey fabric has some give to it, but, because of the bodice lining, the bust measurement is less flexible (see measurements below, for details about size and fit). The dress closes in back with nylon zipper. In excellent condition, this 70s evening dress makes a bold statement in lipstick red!
