Make a bold statement in these retro 1940s style, wide leg pants in lipstick red, dating from the late 80s or early 90s. The rayon and acetate blend crepe fabric has a lovely texture, fairly lightweight but not at all sheer. The high waist pant has a pleated front (plain back—no pleats). The pant fastens with a single button at the waistband and a nylon zipper, and has diagonal pockets at each hip. The pants are fully lined in bright red silk. The matching fabric-covered, wide belt shows some discoloration and wear at the buckle (see photo), but the pants themselves are in very good to excellent condition, with a quite faint (we were unable to get it to show up in a photo) and tiny spot near the right leg hem. Based on the inseam length, these wide leg pants are either meant to be slightly cropped, or were designed for a petite. A versatile style and a fantastic color—dress them up or down, for work or cocktail/evening wear!
The color and style of this late 80s-early 90s pant matches very well with our red bolero jacket from the same era (and the same original owner), as shown in our final photo.
