A circa late 1950s or early 1960s full-skirted dress, this paisley print chiffon cutie by L’Aiglon has a matching cropped jacket. The flattering, dark brown satin inset at the waist is trimmed with large bow in front. The milk chocolate and taupe chiffon is sheer, so the light tan or mocha taffeta lining shows through, changing the appearance of the dress color to a warmer shade, overall. The sleeveless dress has a scoop neckline and a fitted bodice, shaped by bust darts. The chiffon outer layer of the skirt is full and floaty, while the lining is a bit less full, underneath. The button-front over-blouse or cropped jacket has elbow length sleeves and a notched, stand collar. It is lined, also. The dress and jacket set is in very good condition. The only issue to note is some fading to the fabric along the edges of the underarm area (see our close-up photo). This is somewhat disguised by the overall color variation caused by the combination of the lining and the sheer chiffon fabric.
