This yellow silk 1960s cocktail dress will brighten up any occasion with its fab psychedelic floral print, reminiscent of Peter Max designs. The lightweight fabric is a type of silk called surah, with a twill weave, often used for fine neckties, as well as ladies’ clothing. The background color of the print is a sunny yellow, but the stylized floral design adds shade of hot pink, electric blue, lime green and orchid—quite a feast for the eyes! The shape of the short-sleeved dress is a classic 60s shift style, skimming over the body, with a slightly loose fit shaped by princess seaming. It can be gently cinched at the waist by one of the two included belts. We have shown the skinny, tie-front belt in our photos, but the dress also comes with a matching fabric, flat belt with a buckle, if you prefer that look. The dress is lined with yellow muslin-type fabric and fastens in back with a plastic zipper. It is in near excellent condition, with only a few tiny picks in the surface of the silk, that should not be visible when it is worn. This authentic 60s dress has no labels, but it appears to be quite well made. The last photo shows the dress unpinned from our mannequin, to give a better idea of its actual size.
