This fabulously feminine 1950s skirt suit in navy blue rayon fabric has a shape similar to ladies’ suits made by Lilli Ann in the 50s: a fitted jacket with small peplum at the hem, a narrow pencil skirt, and special details like the “bow” that wraps underneath the bust and is inserted into bound openings, and a lovely rhinestone (decorative) button. The navy fabric is very lightweight, similar to silk shantung in texture and feel. The jacket fastens in front with covered buttons, and one snap fastener, hidden behind the rhinestone accent. The three-quarter-length sleeves have small, turned up cuffs, and the shoulders have small shoulder pads. The pencil skirt has four tiny pleats in front, just below the fitted waistband, and it fastens with a metal side zipper. Both pieces of this 1950s cocktail suit are unlined, and it is in excellent condition.
