Made of navy blue leather, this pair of circa 1940s oxford or lace-up ladies’ shoes features a quilted/stitched design above the “peeptoe” openings, and comfortable, 2-inch Cuban heels. The label, “Dr. Locke Shoes” made comfort shoes from the 1930s to the 1950s, both in the US and Canada. The shoes have navy ribbon laces, leather soles, insoles, and leather linings (except for the toe box, which is textile-lined). The toes are slightly squared off, with small, peeptoe openings. The shoes have a very tiny, ¼-inch platform under the front soles. In very good condition, these 1940s Cuban heel oxfords have a few scuffs to the leather uppers, one more visible scratch on the back of the left heel, and some wear to the leather soles and heel tips, consistent with normal use. We have not tried to do so, but the visibility of the scratch may be improved with polishing. These authentic vintage 1940s shoes have lots of wear left in them, and are a hard-to-find, larger and wider size!
