A fabulous polka-dotted portrait collar pumps up the visual impact of this navy rayon crepe dress from the early 1950s. The wide collar, scalloped in back, drapes over the shoulders and cap sleeves of the bodice. The original wide belt cinches the waist. The narrow skirt has diagonal pockets and 2 small pleats below the front waist seam. Silver-tone metal and clear rhinestone flowers on navy blue “stems” accent the front of the rayon taffeta collar. These decorative rhinestone flowers are sewn on, and will need to be removed and replaced for the dress’s next cleaning; it has been freshly dry-cleaned and is ready to wear. The very slightly sheer rayon crepe is unlined. The dress fastens at the side seam with a metal zipper. This true vintage late 1940s-early 1950s dress is in very good condition, with one minor issue: a faint line of yellowing on the collar across the top of the right shoulder, unlikely to be noticed when it is worn (see close-up photo).
