This navy blue and white gingham check 70s maxi halter dress has a runway-worthy detail: a scattering of giant paillettes, each with a sparkling rhinestone center! The prong-set rhinestones fit through the center hole in each huge sequin. The sequins or paillettes are set closer together on waist panel, and are more spread out on the skirt. The upper bodice section of the halter dress is made of navy polyester jersey, with a deep V neckline in front and a keyhole opening in back that is fastened with hooks at the back of the neck. The front of the bodice is slightly gathered under the bust and has attached cups inside (see inside bodice photo), which can be removed if you prefer. A wide, fitted gingham panel from the underbust to a slightly high waist seam attaches the upper bodice to the maxi skirt. This waist panel is lined with cream-colored rayon fabric, while the skirt is unlined. The skirt is moderately full in shape, flaring outward from waist to hem. A plastic zipper closes the dress at the center back, below the keyhole opening. In very good condition, the dress has only 1 minor issue: 1 missing sequin at the right side of the waist (see photo). If that rhinestone were removed, it might be unnoticeable. This unique 70s maxi dress will look equally at home at a fabulous garden party, a summer wedding or evening event, at a tropical resort—or of course, just out to brunch!
