This nubby tweed wool 1950s skirt suit has a fantastic texture in a lovely, neutral color combination: black and rust with a charcoal grey background. The hip-length, boxy jacket has padded shoulders, a V-neckline with notched lapels and hip pockets with cute, curved flaps (along with 2 more decorative pocket flaps, at the bust). The wrist-length sleeves have decorative bands just above the hems. The jacket fastens in front with coppery-brown, oval lucite buttons. The narrow pencil skirt has a center front kick pleat at the hem, for greater ease of walking—it narrows towards the hem and is quite skinny in shape! The skirt fastens with a metal side zipper and is unlined, while the jacket is lined with gorgeous, iridescent copper taffeta. In excellent condition, this early 1950s ladies’ suit is well made of quality materials—it should last a lifetime with reasonable care!
