This late 1950s or early 1960s rhinestone pin has pale topaz colored, un-foiled, Austrian crystal stones prong set in bright gold metal. It takes high-quality stones to get this kind of sparkle without the foiling often used in the backs of glass rhinestones. In fact, the pin was made in Austria using their high quality, extra sparkly stones (think Swarovski = Austrian crystal), so that explains their lovely shine. Unusually, the gorgeous, pointed back stones are set upside down, with the pointed sides upright in the settings. The pin is in very good condition, with a bit of verdigris on one of the square prong settings.
