The Pennino brothers were well known for the high quality of design, construction, and materials that went into their costume jewelry creations, from 1926-1966. These clip-on drop earrings from the late 1940s or early 1950s are no exception—exquisitely made using heavyweight, gold-tone rhodium plated metal and gorgeous, sparkling rhinestones! The drop earrings are shaped like lanterns, with the 4-sided, sparkling stones creating the illusion of a glowing “light”. In very good condition, the earrings have one teeny-tiny area of wear to the shiny finish on the back of the top knob of one lantern, and some very faint scratches on the gold-tone metal finish from normal wear and storage (see photos). Neither of these minor issues is likely to be noticed when these lovely 1940s-50s Pennino earrings are worn.
