You’ll feel 100% “pretty in pink”, in this full-skirted, pastel pink silk organza 1950s party dress! The silk organza is embroidered with a floral design on the cap-sleeve bodice, and simply sheer on the princess-seamed, full skirt (shown here with a crinoline underneath, which is not included). The fitted waist is emphasized by a wide sash, which is gathered into a loop in front, and finishes in a dramatic, large bow with long ends (almost to the hem), at the center back. Both the bodice and skirt are lined with pink rayon taffeta. The lower edge of the outer/organza skirt hem is stiffened and shaped by a narrow band of nylon “horsehair”, on its underside. The dress fastens with a metal zipper at the center back. In very good condition, the dress has some of yellowing to the taffeta bodice lining fabric, which is most noticeable at the inner edges of the underarms, where is has affected the outer/organza layer, also (see close-up photo). There are no odors, and the dress has been freshly dry-cleaned. The fabric appears sturdy, and the yellowing of the lining is certainly more noticeable under our bright photo lights than it may be in normal circumstances—we have tried to make it as visible as possible. This full-skirted 1950s party dress is priced accordingly, and it is still very cute and wearable!
