This light-as-air, Indian silk shawl, evening wrap, or stole dates from the 1960s. The tissue-thin silk is an iridescent combination of bright pink and blue, with metallic gold floral designs woven into the fabric, most thickly along each narrow end of its long rectangular shape. One long side of the fabric is hand-hemmed, and the other is the fabric selvedge. In very good condition, the only only issue to note with this lovely silk shawl is a small re-hemmed (by me) section to the hand-hemmed edge where it had come un-sewn at its center—unnoticeable when it is worn. Wrap this beautiful 1960s silk shawl or stole over your favorite fancy outfit as a summer-weight layer, or tie it as a long scarf. It is fabulous, either way!
