This sweet pink floral 1930s day dress in semi-sheer cotton lawn features pretty daisies in shades of white, lilac, and aqua. The slightly puffed, elbow-length sleeves are trimmed with a narrow band of eyelet lace. More dainty white eyelet trims the tiny patch pockets on each side of the bodice, and forms the beautifully feminine, asymmetrical collar. White celluloid buttons fasten the bodice above the waist, and snap fasteners secure the side seam opening. The several sewn-down pleats below the waist seam extend over the front of the hips and up below, to add slightly more fullness to the lower front of the skirt. A tiny section of shirring below the front of each shoulder seam adds a bit of fullness to the upper bodice. The waist seam is just a bit higher than the natural waist, and the hips are a bit more slim than the bust, as is common with many early 1930s dresses. The light-as-a feather cotton lawn fabric means that you will want a slip underneath, since it is somewhat sheer. This 1930s cotton dress is in near excellent condition, with no flaws to note other than the very slightest hint of yellowing to the back of the bodice, visible in the white part of the pattern only, and much more visible against the "skin" of our ultra-white mannequin than it will be against any real person's skin color. It has been carefully hand-washed, and held up perfectly well, with reasonably gentle handling.
