Barbie-pink polka dots on white cotton piqué—what could be cuter? This 1960s 2-piece dress combines a flirty, flared miniskirt with a cheeky, high-leg bodysuit. The bodysuit has a deep V neckline with a pointed collar, princess seaming, and pearly white buttons fastening it in front. The skirt also fastens in front with buttons. Gathers add fullness to its shape, below the wide, fitted waistband. The top of the waistband extends 2 inches above the natural waist. The skirt hem falls to just above mid-thigh on our mannequin, so it is a truly “mini” miniskirt. Luckily the bodysuit underneath removes any worry about potential “wardrobe malfunction” with such a short skirt! The medium-weight textured cotton fabric is unlined, and should be comfortable on all but the most terribly hot days. I have not starched it, but it you could, if you prefer your cottons very crisp. The skirt is in excellent condition, while the bodysuit is very good. The inside of the narrow gusset on the high-leg bodysuit has some faint discoloration, which did not disappear with laundering. It will not be at all visible when the set is worn. The bodysuit also has just a hint of yellowing at the edges of the underarms, and one pinhole-sized rust spot near the right arm opening (see photos). There are no odors or any other issues to note with this darling pink polka-dotted bodysuit and mini skirt, 2-piece 1960s dress set.
