An early 1950s sheer nylon blouse with amazing, giant puffed sleeves, this stunning top is holiday-party-ready in stripes of red, gold and black. The just-below elbow-length sleeves have fitted cuffs, beneath the extra-full upper sleeves, gathered at the shoulder seam to create the lovely fullness of the silhouette. The wide V-neckline is gathered into the by the central strip of fabric that extends to the hem in front, trimmed with decorative rhinestone buttons. The blouse actually fastens in back with a row of less-decorative, dark grey shell buttons. It is unlined and very slightly sheer: in between each red, black, and gold stripe woven into the fabric, the plain, base nylon fabric is a sheer white. The blouse has darts to gently shape the bust and waist, but is still a little bit loose and boxy in shape. It was probably designed to be worn tucked into a skirt, but the hem is finished, so it can also be worn untucked, as shown. Because of the wide neckline, this blouse will fit better on a lady with wider rather than narrower shoulders (see shoulder measurement). This fabulously fancy 1950s blouse is in excellent condition.
