This pleated full skirt from the late 1950s or early 60s is blooming with the loveliest blue and purple roses floral print, on crisp cotton piqué fabric. The skirt has a high, wide waistband, which is fastened on the side with 2 hooks and a metal zipper. Flat pleats are gathered into the waistband, adding enough fullness to accommodate a moderately-sized crinoline if desired (we have shown it here with a crinoline underneath—not included). The medium-weight cotton piqué fabric is bright and crisp. The floral print of abstract and rather prickly-looking roses is cute, without being too sweet! This summer-ready, circa 1950s cotton skirt appears hardly worn, and is in excellent condition. It was made in Switzerland for Chicago’s beloved Marshall Field’s department store.
