This lilac purple tulle 1950s strapless party dress is perfect for a vintage prom look, or any other formal occasion. The full-length skirt and bodice are both made up of fine tulle net fabric (3 layers of tulle for the skirt and 1 layer for the bodice), over a mauve acetate taffeta lining. The full skirt is accented with a dramatic ruffle, which swoops down from the waist at the left side, to the hip on the right, and then back up to the waist again. The strapless bodice is boned, to help it stay up when worn. The feminine tulle fabric is gathered vertically over the bust, and horizontally over the wide waist panel. The gown comes with a matching rectangular stole or wrap of unlined purple tulle. The dress fastens with a metal zipper in the left side seam. In good, completely wearable condition, this fun 1950s gown has these issues: one pencil-eraser-sized hole in the skirt tulle, some faint marks on one section of the skirt ruffle, some wear to the bottom edge of the unfinished tulle hem all around, some overall fading to the taffeta lining and some wear to the casing covering the bodice boning, so that the very top edges are exposed. We have tried to show all of these issues in our photos, but feel free to contact us with any questions. None of them are likely to be noticed when this fabulous 1950s party dress is worn.
The gown is shown with a (modern) crinoline underneath, which is not included—although we do sell them, if you would like to recreate this look!
