This tomato red brocade 1950s blouse, smock top, or short-sleeved, hip-length jacket has Asian-themed designs woven into the rayon satin fabric. The blouse’s flared, A-line shape from bust to hem will make it comfy and easy to wear, and it would also work well as a vintage maternity top. The short sleeves have notched, pointed cuffs. The high neckline is split into a deep V in front, above the self-fabric covered buttons. The top has 2 diagonal, double-welt pockets, 1 at each hip. The lightweight rayon brocade fabric is unlined, with bound seams inside—a nice, high-quality detail! Vertical darts extend down from the front of the shoulders to the bust, for subtle shaping. The top is most fitted at the biceps/sleeve hems and at the shoulders, so please check those measurements carefully. This true vintage1950s Asian-style smock top or A-line blouse is in excellent condition, with no flaws to note.
