This nubby cotton knit 1950s sweater dress in bright raspberry mixes it up with textures: both horizontal and vertical “stripes” woven into the surface of the knit. The short-sleeved bodice of the dress has a round neckline, and horizontal, openwork stripes creating a patterned shoulder “yoke” from the top of the shoulders to just above the bust. The waist is defined with a ribbed, vertical stripe pattern, and below a flat knit section at the waist, the skirt section also features this ribbed stripe. Flatteringly, the stripes at the waist are smaller and closer together than the stripes of the skirt, creating a slimming effect. The cotton knit fabric has moderate stretch to it, and it is unlined—so you may want a slip underneath, for modesty. The dress fastens with a single hook and eye at the back of the neck; it pulls on over the head with no other openings, so be aware of this when examining the measurements. This bright pinkish-red, early-to-mid 1950s sweater knit dress is in excellent condition. Easy to dress up or down with jewelry, belt, etc., this 1950s vintage classic will be chic and comfortable to wear!
