Red velveteen 1950s evening dress gown rhinestone trim XS

1950s Clothing

This bright red rayon velveteen 1950s evening gown is the perfect holiday formal dress! The boned bodice has a zigzag, strapless neckline, with decorative rhinestone “straps” that form a “V” in front and crisscross in back. (These straps are lightweight, and not really designed to hold the bodice up—they are more for extra sparkle!) Piping trims the waist seam. Below, the full-length skirt is unlined and flares from hips to hem. It is quite a lot of red velvet fabric! The dress fastens with a metal side seam zipper. The bodice is lined with off-white rayon taffeta. The rhinestone trim has a lot of extra length left hidden inside the bodice, to adjust them to a longer length if needed. In sturdy, totally wearable, good condition, this 1950s red velvet evening dress does have some small, dark marks (see close-up photos). It has been recently dry-cleaned, but not spot-treated for these marks. The crinoline shown underneath is not included. This true vintage beauty was skillfully home sewn, and is the Christmas or Valentine’s Day 1950s princess dress of your dreams!
