A steel blue satin 1950s cocktail or party dress, this full-skirted beauty has a flatteringly deep, scooped neckline. The fitted bodice is shaped by vertical seaming from the bust to the dropped waist seam. It has cap sleeves and an attached “sash” in front, with a cute bow just under the bust. Below the dropped waist, the full, flared skirt is approximately tea-length—or longer on a more petite person. The front part of the bodice is constructed in 2 layers, with a split at the center front of the outer layer. The inner layer of the front bodice and the skirt section are both lined with blue nylon tulle. (The dress is shown here with an additional crinoline underneath, which is not included.) The center back, metal zipper stops below the back neckline, so the dress will need to be pulled on over the head. The steel blue satin fabric is medium weight with a taffeta back, probably a blend of rayon and acetate. In excellent condition, this 1950s cocktail or evening dress has no issue to note.
