This deadstock vintage extra wide necktie, circa late 1940s or early 1950s, has a figural design of a large swordfish on the wider end, combined with a smaller “scale” design of fish on the narrower end—so fun! The print on the twill-weave rayon combines dark burgundy with ruby red and mauve. Like many 1940s and earlier ties, this particular tie is rather short, since they were often worn with double-breasted or 3-piece suits, complete with vests or waistcoats. This fabulous, circa 1940s swing tie is in excellent to mint condition, unworn, with its paper label still attached. The leaping swordfish is a classic, bold/loud 40s tie design—this tie is not shy!
