Teal green print 1960s shirtwaist dress deadstock XS-S

1960s Clothing

This teal green print deadstock vintage dress from the early 1960s is a classic shirtwaist style, with a button-front bodice and semi-full, gathered skirt. The abstract floral print fabric in teal, aqua blue, violet purple, and earth tones is a very lightweight polyester Dacron with a sheen to its surface, fine enough to be semi-sheer. The short-sleeved bodice has vertical bust darts for shaping and a cute, scarf-tie collar. The mauve-brown buttons with sparkling rhinestone centers extend to about hip level, to make the dress easy to get on and off. The skirt is gathered into pleats where it meets to fitted waist seam, to add fullness to its shape. A single layer of white tulle netting lines the skirt only; the bodice is unlined. You may want a half-slip or slip under the dress, since this tulle under-layer is a bit scratchy. (You could easily remove it, if you prefer.) In mint condition, unworn with its original tags, this true vintage 1960s shirtwaist dress even has its original, matching belt.
