This mid-century, tiki style, ladies’ 1960s Hawaiian shirt or blouse by Kamehameha features bold but neutral shades of black, white, brown, grey and gold. The “block print” design is accented with plain black trim on the small collar, the cuffs on the kimono-style sleeves, and across the top of the shoulders. The short-sleeved top is tunic- or hip-length; the curved hem has side slits. The loose-fitting, boxy shape of this Hawaiian blouse would look great worn with a skinny capri or cropped pant! The fabric is very lightweight cotton—it may have been originally part of a “TV pajamas” or lounging pajamas outfit with plain black trousers. The top is loose enough to pull on over the head, with 3 buttons closing the off-center opening at the neckline (1 is a replacement). In very good condition, the only issue with this circa 1960s Hawaiian blouse, other than the replacement button, is a couple of tiny spots on the front (see close-up photo), that should not be very noticeable when it is worn, due to the busy, tiki-tastic pattern!
