This 1960s silk blouse has a lovely blue poppies print on on off-white background. The lightweight fabric is a twilled silk (with a diagonal pattern in the weave), similar to the silk used to make fine vintage scarves. The slightly boxy, tunic-length top is fastened down the front with silk-covered buttons, and has a V-neckline with a small collar and notched lapels. The long sleeves are also fastened with covered buttons. The blouse has bust darts for subtle shaping, but is designed to fit somewhat loosely (see measurements for more details on sizing). The hip-length hem has small slits at each side seam. In very good to excellent condition, the only issue with the blouse is some faint creases near the front hem that we were unable to remove when it was steamed--a professional pressing may improve them. Although no tag is present (just the remains of one, as seen in our close-up photo), this 1960 silk top reminds us very much of the silk blouses made by Vera Neumann for her label “Vera”. Pair the blouse with skinny capri pants for a classic mid-century casual look!
