This tropical-style 1950s handbag in fine, yellow woven raffia has a fabulous, Asian-inspired, T-shaped bamboo handle. The woven raffia is so fine and flexible that it almost feels like fabric. At the top edge, where the bright yellow raffia meets the metal frame of the bag, it has been left unwoven, to create a decorative fringe around the bag’s opening. The gold metal frame fastens with a kiss clasp, and gold metal rings attach the bamboo top handle. The bag is more-or-less crescent-shaped, with curved sides and a nearly flat base. It is lined with yellow fabric, including one inner slip pocket. This authentic vintage 1950s handbag was never used (the original price tag is still tied to the handle) and it is in excellent to mint condition. Pair with your favorite Hawaiian dress or other vintage tiki attire, for the perfect match!
