Description
This fuchsia pink orlon acrylic pullover sweater dates from the late 1950s or early 1960s. Deadstock and unworn, the boatneck sweater came to me with a lot of great 1950s-60s vintage tops that belonged to a shopaholic who never got around to wearing all of her purchases—luckily for you! The wide neckline, cap sleeves and hem all have a narrower-gauge ribbed pattern, while the body of the fitted sweater has wider ribs. The soft, medium-weight orlon acrylic knit is unlined and has plenty of stretch. I estimate it will fit a modern medium, but it could also fit a small more loosely, or possibly a large, quite snugly. The sweater was originally sold by Queens-Way to Fashion, a party plan type of fashion company founded in the 1950s in Skokie, Illinois. They were kind of like Tupperware parties, but for clothing! In excellent to mint condition, this versatile 1950s-60s fitted sweater will look great with almost anything: from skinny cigarette pants for a sweater-girl pin-up style, to your favorite vintage skirts or high-waisted jeans!
