Description

These early 1950s short shorts are made of a mid-weight, twill weave black cotton sometimes referred to as chino fabric. Their extra high waist is shaped by tiny darts that open up in front only, to add a bit of extra fullness through the hip area. The fairly wide leg openings have cuffed hems. The cuffs would not stay in place when pressed up, so I have tacked them down all around (stitching which is easily removed, if you prefer). In back, the shorts have a single cute patch pocket, and a metal zipper. A plastic button fastens the back waist. The shorts are unlined except at the waistband, where a strip of white cotton is stitched with rubberized thread—to help keep your blouse tucked in, when worn! In very good condition, the shorts are wash-faded all over from their original black shade to more of a dark charcoal. Also, the button at the back of the waist shows some wear to its edges. The fabric and stitching are all quite sturdy, and these darling 1950s pin-up style short shorts are freshly washed and ready for many more summers!
