This boxy 1960s short coat or jacket combines faux black curly lamb with a real mink collar in silvery gray. The versatile jacket is fancy enough to wear for evening, but would also look lovely over casual attire, for everyday wear. The hip-length jacket is slightly flared from bust to hem, and the bracelet-length sleeves are slightly flared, also. It has 2 small pockets just above the hem and fastens in front with 3 pretty, floral-design black plastic buttons. There are 2 small slits at hem,1 at each side seam. The mink collar can be worn 2 ways, both shown: with the 2 covered fur hooks attached to it in front either unfastened or fastened at the neck, which changes the shape of the collar. The coat or jacket is lined with black acetate satin, which has faded to a purplish tone from age. The faux curly lamb is almost as heavy as real fur, although not quite as warm. The jacket is designed with a boxy, moderately loose fit in mind, as reflected in the measurements. It fits me pretty well (modern size 6). The smallest area is at the shoulders and upper arms, while the body of the coat is a bit more loose-fitting. I estimate that it will be best for approximately a modern size 4 to 8, depending on what you choose to wear underneath it. Three is a faint scent of the previous owner’s perfume remaining in the fur collar, so if you are very sensitive to scent, this might not be the coat for you. It is in very good condition, excellent aside from the slight fading to the lining fabric.
