Description
An early-to-mid 1960s whimsy hat or fascinator, this lightweight cocktail hat features black velvet holly leaves and feathers applied to 2 layers of black veiling. The feather and holly leaf appliqués are wired on the back, and most (not all) can be adjusted/shaped (several are sewn down to the veil backing). The double-layered veil base includes a stiff, wider gauge mesh underneath an outer layer of finer, softer black netting. This darling black velvet vintage fascinator would be a great choice to wear to a winter event or holiday party, since the holly leaves are very seasonal! In very good, perfectly sturdy condition, the hat’s only issue to note is that some of the fronds edging the feather appliqués are a bit more curled up than others from its long storage.
