Description

This black and white maxi dress by Nardis of Dallas dates from the late 1960s or early 70s. If you are a fan of mid-century vintage TV, you may have noticed the company’s name in the credits of “The Dick Van Dyke Show”: they provided costumes to the show in mid-1960s. The mid-to-heavy-weight, double knit polyester dress is trimmed with narrow black cording designs on the white waist panel and the banded hem. Its sleeveless bodice is fitted with diagonal bust darts. A deep V neckline opens below the high stand collar. Decorative black glass buttons adorn the center center front. The full-length skirt is relatively narrow from waist to hip, but flares out in an A-line shape from hips to hem. The dress is unlined and fastens in back with a nylon zipper. In very good condition, this dramatic black and white 1960s-70s maxi dress has one minor issue: some faint dark marks (on the underside only) at the back of the white hem band (see photo of underside). This will not be noticeable when the dress is worn.
