Unworn with their original tags, this pair of royal blue rayon gabardine late 1940s or early 1950s deadstock men’s trousers are the perfect rockabilly-style pant! The high-waisted pants will fit approximately a 32-inch waist. They feature a no-waistband, Hollywood style waist with dropped belt loops, a pleated front with 2 side seam pockets, and 2 back pockets, one of which closes with a button. The pant is unlined except at the waistband, fly, and pockets, where it is lined with white cotton that has yellowed a bit from age. Inside the waistband are 3 rows of rubberized stitching, to help keep your shirt tucked in when worn. These never worn trousers are as-yet un-hemmed, so they have a hard-to-find, extra long inseam (38 inches) that will be great for a taller person! The pant fastens with a metal zip fly and a hidden button at the waist. Although they were unworn, I had these true vintage 1950s trousers dry-cleaned for freshness after their long and dusty storage. They are now clean and ready to wear! Please note: although labeled a waist size 34 on the attached paper tag, the pant actually measures to a 33-inch waist, laid flat, with best fit for approximately 32 inches. The pant is in good, sturdy condition, unworn with its original manufacturer's paper tag at the front waist. There are small mends (done by me) on the front crease of each leg, at about mid-thigh height. These small worn areas in the fabric, due to the pant being stored folded for many, many years, have now been now stabilized. Although not invisible, the mends should not be too noticeable when the pant is worn (see close-up photos, which have been significantly lightened to show the mends more clearly). There is no fading to the rich, dark blue of the gabardine fabric. This true vintage 1940s-50s men’s pleated-front rayon gab pant will of course also need to be hemmed, cuffed or uncuffed, before wearing.
