Description
This circa 2000s blue and white gingham halter top and skirt set is the perfect summer outfit! A casual but chic 1950s-style combo, the sundress set is ready to take you from the beach to dinner with easy style. I believe that this set was nicely home sewn from a mid-century-inspired pattern. The lightweight cotton blend fabric is self-lined with a second layer of gingham inside the fitted crop top. The bra-style backless halter has a wide layer of trim across the tops of the cups, darts for shaping and a fitted band under the bust cups in front. It is adjustable with ties at the neck, and fastens with 2 sets of buttons at center back. There is no boning in the top, so you may choose to wear a strapless bra underneath for more support. The matching skirt has a flared, trumpet shape: the hem is quite full, but the hips are relatively narrow. Half of the skirt panels end in 5-inch-long points at the hem. The wide waistband sits up high, with its top just above the natural waist. The skirt is unlined, and fastens with a side-seam nylon zipper and 2 large shell buttons. In excellent condition, the set has no issues to note. This 1950s-style 2-piece late 90s or 2000s blue gingham sundress set should fit approximately like a modern extra small.
