Description
A preppy classic, this kilt-style, pleated 1950s plaid wool wrap skirt combines shades of sky blue, light and charcoal heather gray, and a narrow stripe of tomato red. The skirt has narrow pleats sewn down from waistband to hip at the back and on its right side. In front, a wide, flat panel overlaps and buttons at the waist, with a fringed outer edge. The overall shape of the skirt is relatively narrow, with small darts to shape the upper hips. It has a bit more fullness from hips to hem, where the pleats are released. The waist size could be adjusted a bit by moving the large covered button. In very good, near excellent condition, the only issue to note is some wear to one edge of the fabric-covered button at the skirt’s waistband (see close-up photo). This knee-length 1950s plaid wrap skirt is a very vintage collegiate or bobby-soxer style that will also pair well with modern knit tops or sweaters.
