Description
A bright and colorful floral print silk 80s cocktail or party dress, this blouson-bodice beauty channels the dropped waist silhouette of the 1920s. The silk chiffon fabric has subtle stripes of metallic lurex woven into it. The draped, loose-fitting bodice meets a softy gathered, pleated panel at the hip, which is where the dress is most fitted in size and shape. Below this pleated dropped-waist panel, the tea-length skirt uses the same sheer floral chiffon fabric, but turned on the diagonal (bias-cut), with a ruffled flounce finishing its hem. The dress is fully lined with off-white rayon taffeta, to match the background color of the floral print. In very good condition, the dress has one small mend on the lining fabric only (see photo) that will not be seen when it is worn. The original maker’s label was removed by the previous owner, leaving only the fabric content and care label. The dress fastens with a single hook and eye closing the opening at the back of the neck; it otherwise must pull on over the head. This feminine and floaty, silk chiffon 80s dress would be perfect for a garden party, wedding, or other semi-formal event.
